ethical reasons? weight loss? health reasons? the list why people decide to follow a vegan diet is long and everyone has their own reasons and story to tell.

about four or five months ago i finally decided to take the next step and switch from an ova-lacto vegetarian diet to a vegan diet. i've not regretted it ever since. i even wished i would have done this sooner.

ever since people have supported me and showed a lot of understanding. although there a still some of the annoying "where do you get your protein" kinda people. honestly, when did you become an expert? these people should be more worried about their diet and health rather than mine.

obviously i'm only at the beginning and still have to learn a lot about nutrition but i'm doing fine so far.

why did i decided to follow a plant based diet? after seven years of not eating meat/fish and a few other things i couldn't do it any longer. the whole "i love animals" thing doesn't really work for me if i still consume dairy and egg products on a daily basis. that's hypocritical and i just didn't want to support the industry anymore.

why i don't support the milk industry anymore?

"Due to extensive genetic manipulation, today’s dairy cows produce up to 12 times more milk than they would naturally produce to feed a calf. " ehh thats just sick.

"Even so, virtually all dairy calves are stolen from their mothers within hours of birth in order to maximize profit." i can't imagine anyone wanting to get their baby, which they carried for 9 months, taken away from them within hours after birth.

"All forms of dairy farming involve forcibly impregnating cows. This involves a person inserting his arm far into the cow’s rectum in order to position the uterus, and then forcing an instrument into her vagina. The restraining apparatus used is commonly called a “rape rack.”" nuff said.

think you can't live without cheese and fresh milk?
then you probably never tried hazelnut or oat milk and vegan cheese. this stuff is amazing if you don't want to completely give up this kinda stuff.

i honestly could sit down for hours and hours and write forever about this topic. there's so much to discuss about.

if more people just sat down for once and did a little bit of research, i know that so many more would start to follow a plant based diet. it's sick how we treat other living beings just so we can have a snack... but ye know, thats just my opinion.

all we really need to survive is given to us by nature. "all vegans just eat grass and salad?" fuck that, i don't like salad that much and rarely ever eat it. although i know i should, but oh well. don't like it? don't eat it! as simple as that.

at the end of the day i don't give a damn what lifestyle and diet you follow and what you eat, its your decision. but what i've noticed the past seven years is that meat eaters are way more intolerant, sadly thats no joke. in my opinion they're the last ones to judge us on our actions.

i couldn't be happier about this decision and i already noticed to many great differences that came along with this diet. get yer head out of yer butt and go vegan!

  1. So true! I went vegan a year ago and I know how you feel. Funny enough that people who eat meat judge vegans waaaay more often than vegans try to "convince" them. Nice blog, by the way.
